Anyone ever notice I always submit things when none of you are around? 8D
So I'm a little behind on 's b-day pictures. I've got like..6 inked and two completely sketched. I should have just colored them when I was done but when I'm on a drawing spree I don't like to stop because I tend to lose my fire. >>; So now she's got 7 completely done and I....don't. xD;
Anyone that's been around watching me for a few years knows that I draw Michelle's Pokemon characters that she creates. This one is one of her latest; a goldeen girl.
I wasn't happy about her at first, her face become funky and she was looking like Grace Adler, one of the main character's on Will & Grace. I still see it but not so much.
So I'll have you know this has a total of 34 different colors/shades of orange and other things. There's also 30 layers. Small by most of your standards but that's a lot considering how much orange is on this. o_O There's lots of detail in the shadowing and the tail pattern so please take notice...or I must just cry. My eyes were on fire when I was doing her tail xD;
The pilliar isn't even started on yet. I'll color it once I've got some of the other pictures finished. I'll be pulling all of them into a final group shot so I'm giving myself some time to decide on a nice pattern for the pillar. ^^
I also altered my watermark. I can make it bigger now and it'll cover more of the image. The one I send to Michelle won't have it.
Sketched with mechanical pencils, inked with Sakura microns, enhanced and colored via Photoshop CS3. Do not use, copy, claim as your own, etc, etc. Just don't take it period. :3
And it's more like 34 different colors but the majority of the colors was orange. I didn't want to be lame and use the same color orange for everything. It would just be way too boring that way. And I went so far as to shade tiny things like that one strand of colored beads by her waist.
I also didn't use the lineart you'd fixed for me. I went in and did something that was partly with your instructions and partly with that lineart tutorial I was telling you about that you had faved. Instead of ctrl + clicking the RGB channel I ctrl + clicked the blue channel. And I managed to fina a way to clean up the smudginess of it all. my lines didn't come out as dark as the one you fixed up for me but that was fine with me.
I'm glad you like it through. I do too, though I wish her face didn't look so squished. >>

Yeah I love her Goldeen & Seeking couple. I was even trying to suggest some new mermaid pairs for her with a gyarridos and one of the newer water type pokemon. The name escapes me at the moment.
I'm glad you like it. All that orange was making my eyes hurt so bad. >_<
It's funny cause this year I didn't want to just draw her characters one by one and then give them to her. So I decided to do that collage thing. But the hard part was trying to determine how to pose her mermaid characters like her Vaporeon girl and her newer Goldeen Girl and Seeking guy. So Goldeen and Seeking are sitting on pillars which will be put at each end of the collage. And I still have to think fo some sort of intricate design for the background. Can't just have them standing in a white void xD

Well please go and let my friend Michelle know you like it so much. This is a Pokemon character but she still had to give her all the accessories and such, I merely used her work as reference. I am glad you like my rendition of it though. Her tail is very pretty I think, I can't stop looking at it. xD;

Lovely work. I also like that outlined pillar you put in there for her to sit on.
