I do understand the whole thing with a super popular artist though. I feel the same way. Though I tend to comment regardless, but that's just me. XD

Besides, complaining about "favewhores" isn't going to make them comment more. It's just going to make them fav less. Until you have no one commenting and no one faving. Doesn't sound like an ideal scenario either, now does it?
But really, if you're bothered by those people who fav your stuff without leaving a comment again, just send them to me c: I would love for people to just notice and enjoy my work, even if I will not know exactly what they like about it.
Anyway, I feel this needs to be said: I do not hate favorites. I do get your point, being seen in other people's favorites is definitely a good thing. I too have seen and clicked and gone on to comment and favorite works in such a manner.
I do, however, not know where you got the idea that people complaining about favewhores is somehow going to make them favorite less. From my experience it is is those sorts of people that don't bother to read the artist comments anyway (and this is generally speaking I don't wish to imply that ALL people who are favewhores do this) and certainly don't stop to comment or bother looking at deviations complaining about them. Deviations like this one and others get ignored for the most part by the very group we're venting about. And that is what I made this stamp for, to help a friend of mine vent. The artist comment was written two years ago (I believe) and I will go and put in another edit and date it just to give people an updated clarification on what I consider a "favewhore" to be and how I personally feel about favorites and the like. But deviations like these, at least for me, are a great way to just vent everything out and it helped my friend a lot. I certainly wasn't trying to start a riot. Though I like those too. With mobs and pitchforks and such...8D
For the record I would like to point out that I consider favewhores to be individuals that go and favorite the entirety (or majority) of a single artists gallery and leave not one comment behind. Unless their favorites are set to random then being seen may not ever really happen. I have seen people massively favorite someone's gallery only to go and look at their fave folder and find another massive amount of art from some other artists gallery piled on top no more than a few minutes afterward, thus burying that other artists work and the whole folder isn't even set to random. That certainly doesn't help anyone.
One last thing too, for the record, I do thank each and every person who leaves me a favorite on any of my works, regardless of whether it is old or not. I personally take the time to go to their pages and thank them/leave a llama and move on to thank the next. So I am not as ungrateful or unhappy about them as I guess my stamp has lead you to believe. D:
I personally just feel that yeah, a favorite does tell me someone out there likes my work. And I think that's awesome! But ultimately how does 50 favorites tell me how to improve? Or point out to me what I could have done better? They don't, and I merely wish I could have more comments telling me such. That of course doesn't mean I am not actively trying to improve on my own by looking up references and whatnot. it is just very helpful to have things pointed out from fellow artists who aren't so biased to a piece as the actual artist may be to it after all the time and effort that was put into it. Also, I just plain like chatting with other artists which is why comments are nicer than a favorite, but both (in my mind) are very much appreciated and welcome.
